How to Use a Rice Cooker?

Step 1 Read your Rice Package

Step 2  Add Water and Rice into your Bowl/Pot

  • Pour into the saucepan the precise amount of water recommended by the packaging, if you don't think your rice needs to be rinsed. If you do need to rinse your rice, then do so by covering it with water and letting it sit for a minute or so. 
  • Next, toss the rice in the water to remove any excess starch by using your (clean) hands or a rubber frying tool. The starch should cause the water to become cloudy. 
  • After removing the water, add additional and carry out the same procedure again. Continue doing this until you can still swish the water around clearly. 
  • After the last bit of water has been strained out, add precisely the amount recommended by the box.

Step 3 Place the pot in the cooker and cover its lid
